Rediscover ease in your body
Are you carrying tension or discomfort that just won’t shift, no matter what you try?
Feeling disconnected, stuck, or slightly off-kilter?
Sometimes, the body holds onto experiences long after the moment has passed. Impacts, shocks, or emotional strain can settle in the body and quietly shape how we feel, move, and show up in daily life.
ConTact C.A.R.E. is a gentle, fully clothed, hands-on approach that helps release pressure the body has stored in response to unexpected impact or stress. It honours the body’s natural protective instincts and supports it to return to ease, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Sessions are grounded, respectful, and safe for people of all ages

What Is ConTact C.A.R.E?
Developed in Aotearoa, New Zealand
ConTact C.A.R.E. was developed here in Aotearoa, in Ngātea, by Dale Speedy (6th dan blackbelt, Kiaido-Ryu) and Kym Summers. It draws on martial arts principles and a deep respect for the body’s ability to protect and heal itself.
At its core is an understanding that the skeleton protects itself from a sudden impact. This creates what’s known as a flinchlock—a subtle but powerful sensory shock. These protective locks don’t always form where you’d expect. The pain or tension you feel may not come from the original impact, but from the body adapting and compensating to keep you functioning.
Over time, these adaptations can create discomfort, restriction, or a sense of imbalance.
ConTact C.A.R.E. practitioners are trained to look for what’s not moving in a body designed for motion. That stillness holds the story, it’s where the body locks down to protect itself. We gently meet that pressure with hands-on awareness, using a specific release method to help the body let go, safely and naturally.
This work:
-
Is not forceful or invasive
-
Doesn’t rely on mental processing
-
Works with the body’s own intelligence and timing
When the pressure is lifted, bones shift, and the body reorganises itself around balance and comfort again. That’s where healing begins.

What to Expect in a Session
Sessions are guided by comfort, care, and deep listening.
Here’s what you can expect:
-
Clothed sessions: Please wear something loose and comfortable.
-
Safety and respect: I’ll take the time to listen to your story, observe what your body is showing, and guide you to find your comfort shape, a position where your body feels safe enough to release.
-
Tailored care: Each session runs between 30–60 minutes. Follow-up sessions depend entirely on your body’s needs.
-
Designed for all ages: I work with both adults and children, and you’re welcome to bring a support person along if that feels right for you.
Nothing is rushed. Your body sets the pace.
